- Array, linked list, hash table/map, tree, graph
- "This approach uses a hash map for O(1) lookup time"
Algoritmos:
- Sorting, searching, recursion, dynamic programming
- "I'll use binary search because the array is sorted"
Complexidade:
- Time complexity, space complexity, Big O notation
- "The time complexity is O(n log n) due to the sorting step"
Design:
- Scalability, latency, throughput, load balancing
- "We can scale horizontally by adding more servers"
Para Data Scientists
Stats/ML:
- Overfitting, bias-variance tradeoff, cross-validation
- "To prevent overfitting, I'll use regularization"
Modelos:
- Regression, classification, clustering, neural networks
- "For this classification problem, I'd start with logistic regression as a baseline"
Frases Úteis Universais
Quando você não entende:
- "Could you clarify what you mean by X?"
- "Just to make sure I understand correctly, you're asking about Y?"
Quando precisa de tempo:
- "Let me think through this for a moment"
- "I'll walk through my thought process step by step"
Quando explica:
- "The approach I'm taking is..."
- "The trade-off here is..."
- "One alternative would be..."
Parte 2: Estrutura de Resposta (Framework)
Para Coding Questions
Passo 1: Clarify (2 min)
Não comece codando imediatamente. Faça perguntas:

- "What's the expected input range?"
- "Should I optimize for time or space?"
- "Are there any edge cases I should consider?"
Passo 2: Explain Approach (3 min)
Antes de codar, explique:
- "I'm going to use a two-pointer approach because..."
- "The algorithm will work in three steps: first..., then..., finally..."
Passo 3: Code + Narrate (15 min)
Enquanto coda, fale em voz alta:
- "I'm initializing a hash map to store..."
- "Now I'll iterate through the array..."
- "This condition checks if..."
Por quê narrar? Entrevistador vê seu raciocínio. Se você erra, ele pode dar hint.
Passo 4: Test (5 min)
Após codar, teste:
- "Let me walk through an example: if input is [1,2,3]..."
- "For edge cases, what if the array is empty?"
Para System Design Questions
Passo 1: Clarify Requirements (5 min)
- "What's the expected scale? Are we talking millions or billions of users?"
- "What are the key features we need to support?"
- "Are there latency requirements?"
Passo 2: High-Level Design (10 min)
Desenhe (no whiteboard ou screen share):
- "At a high level, we'll have three main components: frontend, API layer, and database"
- "User requests come in through a load balancer..."
Passo 3: Deep Dive (15 min)
Entrevistador escolhe componente para aprofundar:
- "For the database, I'd use a relational DB for transactions and a cache layer for reads"
- "We can handle scalability by sharding the database by user ID"
Passo 4: Trade-offs (5 min)
Sempre mencione trade-offs:
- "The trade-off of using microservices is added complexity in deployment"
- "Caching improves read performance but introduces potential staleness"
Parte 3: Preparação Prática
Drill 1: Vocabulário Flash Cards (1 semana antes)
Crie flashcards (Anki ou papel):
- Frente: Termo técnico em português
- Verso: Termo em inglês + frase exemplo
Exemplo:
- Frente: "Atravessar árvore"
- Verso: "Tree traversal. 'We can use depth-first traversal to visit all nodes.'"
Pratique 15 min/dia por 1 semana.
Drill 2: Mock Interviews em Inglês (2-3 semanas antes)
Plataformas:
- Pramp (free peer mock interviews)
- Interviewing.io (paid, with real engineers)
Exemplo:
Resolvendo Two Sum:
"I'm going to iterate through the array. For each element, I'll check if its complement exists in the hash map. If yes, I return the indices. Otherwise, I add the current element to the map. The time complexity is O(n) because we iterate once."
Drill 4: Assista Tech Interviews No YouTube (1-2 horas/semana)
Canais:
- Mock Google Interview (on YouTube)
- Tech Interview Pro
- Exponent

O que observar:
- Como candidato estrutura resposta
- Frases que ele usa ("Let me think about...", "One approach would be...")
- Como ele lida com não saber ("I'm not familiar with X, but my intuition is...")
Parte 4: No Dia da Entrevista
Antes de Começar
Setup técnico:
- Teste mic/camera 10 min antes
- Feche distrações (WhatsApp, email)
- Água ao lado (garganta seca é comum)
Mental prep:
- Respire fundo 5x
- Lembre: entrevistador quer que você passe (não é adversário)
- Primeiro 30 segundos dita tone - fale devagar, com clareza
Durante a Entrevista
Se você não entende pergunta:
NÃO finj entender. Pergunte:
- "Could you repeat the question?"
- "I want to make sure I understand - are you asking about X?"
Se você trava:
- Pause e respire. Diga: "Give me a moment to think through this."
- Entrevistador espera. 10-15 segundos silence está OK.
Se você erra:
- Entrevistador dá hint: "Have you considered using a hash map?"
- Aceite hint graciosamente: "Oh that's a great point, let me try that approach."
Se você não sabe resposta:
Honestidade > bluff.
- "I'm not familiar with that specific algorithm, but my approach would be..."
- Mostra raciocínio mesmo sem saber solução perfeita.
Red Flags Que Matam Sua Candidatura
❌ Silêncio total: Você coda em silêncio por 10 min. Entrevistador não sabe o que você está pensando.
❌ Defensivo: Entrevistador sugere melhoria, você responde "But my solution works." (Tom importa)
❌ Desiste rápido: "I don't know" e para de tentar. Entrevistador quer ver resiliência.
Parte 5: Tipos de Entrevista (Específicos)
Coding (Leetcode-style)
Plataformas usadas: CoderPad, HackerRank, Codility
Tempo: 45 min (geralmente 2 problemas ou 1 problema complexo)
Como se preparar:
- Foco em Leetcode Easy/Medium (não Hard)
- Padrões comuns: Two pointers, sliding window, DFS/BFS
- 150-200 problemas é suficiente
System Design
Tempo: 45-60 min
Tópicos comuns:
- "Design Twitter/Instagram"
- "Design URL shortener"
- "Design notification system"
Como se preparar:
- Livro: "Designing Data-Intensive Applications" (Martin Kleppmann)
- YouTube: Gaurav Sen, System Design Interview
- Pratique desenhar arquiteturas e verbalizar trade-offs
Behavioral
Perguntas típicas (em inglês):
- "Tell me about a time you faced a challenge at work"
- "Tell me about a conflict with a team member"
- "Why do you want to work here?"
Framework STAR (use sempre):
- Situation: contexto
- Task: o que você precisava fazer
- Action: o que você fez
- Result: resultado (com números se possível)
Exemplo:
"At my previous company (Situation), we had a critical bug affecting 10% of users (Task). I took ownership, debugged the issue within 3 hours, and deployed a fix (Action). As a result, we restored service and reduced similar incidents by 40% through improved monitoring (Result)."
